Green Day se ha manifestado abiertamente en contra del electo presidente de los Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, y eso puede apreciarse en las últimas entrevista y en el más reciente álbum del trío, «Revolution Radio».
Coincidiendo con la asunción de Trump a la presidencia, Green Day publicó el video lyric de «Troubled Times». El clip fue realizado por el español Manu Viqueira.
«Celebramos el amor y la compasión más que nunca», indicó el grupo en un comunicado anunciando el video, que muestra imágenes del pasado vinculadas con momentos de resistencia, rebelión y defensa de los derechos civiles, con otras de Trump con la cabeza en llamas y su gorra de «Make America Great Again».
En el video se ve, además, a Martin Luther King llorando y a activistas de los derechos civiles siendo golpeados por la policía.
