Anuncian un nuevo álbum de Jimi Hendrix con canciones inéditas

Un nuevo álbum de Jimi Hendrix contendrá 10 canciones nunca antes escuchadas. «Both Sides of the Sky» se conocerá el 9 de marzo y se convertirá en la parte final de una trilogía que incluye a «Valleys of Neptune» (2010) y «People, Hell and Angels» (2013).

El álbum fue completado una vez más por Eddie Kramer, quien trabajó en todas las grabaciones de Hendrix durante la vida del guitarrista y continúa manteniendo su archivo.

El LP, que incluirá 13 tracks, se centra en el período comprendido entre enero de 1968 y febrero de 1970, con gran parte del material con el trío de Hendrix -con el bajista Billy Cox y el baterista Buddy Miles-, que se convirtió en Band of Gypsys.

Los puntos destacados incluyen apariciones especiales de Stephen Stills y Johnny Winter. Stills tocó en una versión de «Woodstock» de Joni Mitchell grabada en septiembre de 1969 -justo antes de que Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young grabasen su propia versión- y en la canción original «$20 Fine». Winter puede escucharse en un cover de «Things That I Used to Do» de Guitar Slim, que nunca ha sido publicado en su totalidad.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, incluyendo a Noel Redding y Mitch Mitchell, participa en «Hear My Train A Comin’». El saxofonista Lonnie Youngblood, quien fue miembro de Curtis Knight and the Squires, uno de los primeros emprendimientos musicales de Hendrix, también hizo su aporte en el álbum.
