Gorillaz anuncia el lanzamiento de «Song Machine» y estrena el single «Strange Timez», con Robert Smith

Gorillaz ha compartido la lista de canciones de su próximo álbum «Song Machine», que incluirá colaboraciones con Elton John, St. Vincent y Beck, entre otros. Además, la banda virtual ha compartido «Strange Timez», con la participación de Robert Smith, líder de The Cure.

El grupo de dibujos animados comenzó el proyecto episódico en enero para conmemorar su vigésimo aniversario, y desde entonces ha compartido colaboraciones con artistas como Slaves, Slowthai, Peter Hook y Georgia.

Hoy, 9 de septiembre, se ha confirmado que el álbum de 11 canciones, «Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez», será publicado en varios formatos el 23 de octubre.

La noticia coincide con el estreno de «Strange Timez», con Robert Smith, que cuenta con un colorido videoclip dirigido por Jamie Hewlett.

«Hicimos esta canción con Robert completamente por correo electrónico», explicó Damon Albarn en BBC Radio 6 Music. Smith agregó: “¡Me encantó! Yo pense que era excelente. Sentí una energía especial y ​​pensé: ‘Será mejor que haga esto'».

Además de los singles lanzados anteriormente, el álbum «Song Machine» incluirá a St. Vincent, también conocida como Annie Clark, en una canción llamada «Chalk Tablet Towers», mientras que Elton John aparecerá junto a 6LACK en «The Pink Phantom».
