La cantante y compositora alemana Kim Petras inicia hoy una nueva era con el lanzamiento de «Future Starts Now», la primera muestra de su próximo álbum y el primer lanzamiento de su recién firmada asociación con Republic Records.
Sobre el nuevo single, Petras comenta: «Me sentí muy ansiosa al comienzo de la cuarentena, porque para mí lo que más me provoca ansiedad es no poder trabajar y hacer lo que amo, ‘Future Starts Now’ habla de intentar vivir el presente, en lugar de estresarse por el futuro y todo el tiempo perdido».
Inspirándose en los éxitos dance de los 80 y la música house europea de la que se enamoró en los viajes familiares de su infancia a París, «Future Starts Now» intenta borrar un año difícil para capturar la euforia de vivir el momento.
Recientemente, Petras adelantó la nueva canción con una presentación debut en el Lollapalooza en Chicago. Rolling Stone declaró que su actuación era «digna de un estadio» y predijo que «su nueva era será elegante, audaz y se quedará en tu cabeza toda la semana».
En medio de toda la decepción y la ansiedad de la pandemia, Kim Petras superó la cuarentena concentrándose en la composición de un álbum que capture toda la emoción de su amada París, un lugar donde siempre ha encontrado la felicidad.
«Future Starts Now» es una declaración audaz de lo que está por venir y el álbum debut de Petras es un brillante escape de dance-pop que combina elementos de sus primeros éxitos del pop y sus álbumes «Clarity» y «Turn Off the Light».
